Running on Issues that Matter to All Parents
Every single person working in our schools are more than just what their job title describes. We entrust them day in and day out with the health, safety, and overall well-being of our children while they are trying to ensure a first class education. I find it disgusting, truly disgusting, that our Board of County Commissioners and Board of Education members are fighting over whether to give school employees scraps when they should be advocating for a much larger piece of the pie. They bicker, they play politics, and they eye higher office while consistently failing the very people they are supposed to be fighting for.
Healthy Students
Our students deserve a school environment where their health is a priority, not an afterthought. I plan to advocate for robust physical health services, from nutritious meals to on-site health professionals, so every child can thrive while they learn. By fully investing in the physical, developmental, and emotional well-being of our children, we are building a stronger foundation for their academic success and our community's future.
Safety
I strongly believe that every child deserves to learn in a safe and secure environment. To achieve this, I will push to ensure that we have a School Resource Officer in every school, providing a visible and immediate layer of protection. This physical security presence will be paired with enhanced mental health resources to address root causes of violence. By uniting these critical efforts, we can create a comprehensive safety net that allows our children to focus on what they should, learning and thriving.
